German-American Wedding at LA VILLA am Starnberger See

In May I had the pleasure to spin records for Allison & Tim. They had already married one year before to that date in New York City. According to Allison they were back out of the door of the registry office again after only 60 seconds. So they had decided to celebrate their first anniversary with their families & friends. Both of them are living a modern life style and have friends around the globe – as they are also working world wide. Therefore they had many options where to celebrate. In the end they had opted for the beautiful Lake Starnberg in the south of Munich, Bavaria. They had chosen LA VILLA am Starnberger See as their location.

The reception took place open air on the terrace with the enchanting view over the Lake. During that event I was playing relaxed background music, in the style I had agreed with the two of them. Later the wedding party moved in the garden pavilion (Gartenpavillon) of LA VILLA, where the dinner and the party took place. The dinner was served in four delicious courses plus an exciting dessert buffet. In the meantime I continued to play soft background tunes.

The Party at the Gartenpavillon of LA VILLA am Starnberger See

Allison & Tim had decided not to do a wedding dance. They had rather selected a song as their party starter and told all their guests with which song the party would kick-off. Once the service personnel had removed two tables to create more space for the dancefloor, I increased the volume to party level and dropped „Cheap Thrills“ from Sia feat. Sean Paul. And – the party started. And how it started! From one moment to the other the dancefloor was packed. A main focus was on Hip-Hop, R&B and Pop this evening, but also Alternative Rock was celebrated big time.

As an international wedding DJ it was a great pleasure to mix music from various parts of the world. It was amazing how people from so different places party’d together. And how different songs, that certainly a big chunk of the crowd did hear for the first time, ignited all of them and made them dance, jump and shout.

The party went on to past three o’clock. Then – the dancefloor was still tightly packed – it was time for a final song, since the bus was leaving to bring the wedding party back to their hotels in Munich.

LA VILLA am Starnberger See as Party Location

La Villa offers two Locations on its premises. One is the wintergarden next to the historical villa, where the dancefloor is located in the villa itself. You have to be aware that due to „Denkmalschutz“ it does not have air condition, so it can become quiet hot in there. On the other hands there are no restrictions regarding the volume of the party.

In the garden pavilion, where Allison & Tim celebrated, there is a powerful air conditioning system installed. But there are also rules by the local administration for the pavilion that require the volume to stay at a maximum of 85 dB and the doors and windows need to be kept closed after 22 o’clock. Handled with a grain of wisdom, those restrictions did not hurt the party at all.

The pavilion is very modern, has a nice bar and some very practical installations like a huge wardrobe, beamer and projection screen. Wood is used as the main material which gives a nice warm feel. The large, lake facing windows can be fully opened, so that the stunning view and the fresh air can be fully enjoyed. The food was as excellent as was the service.

There is direct access from the parking garage under the premises into the pavilion. A stairway, but also a lift connect the pavilion with the rest rooms on the lower floor.

Summarized, a very lovely, high class location to celebrate wonderful weddings and other parties.
